Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly yesterday, May 14th, 2023, along with the other ministers of the Cabinet and Minister of Transport at his office. The meeting was held to discuss a range of aspects in different sectors of the country.
According to the reports, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has informed about the updates of the intensive efforts, in which the State is working with the local and foreign private sectors to establish integrated development logistics hubs, linking production areas of various types to seaports.
“The seaports are being developed to become world-class hub ports and absorbing energies in vast and with diverse logistic areas,” said the President.
It was also said that the world-class hub ports would also integrate with the modern transport network of roads, axis and railways, as it provides the necessary locations to convert Egypt into a centre for international trade and logistics, achieving significant returns for the national economy.
In this context, ongoing efforts to develop the sea and land shipping system, direct and indirect transit trade, the process of developing integrated solutions for the transport and trade of containers and goods across Egypt, and the project of creation of a railway line between Arish and Taba, to create a new logistics hub, are presented a boom in the process of transporting goods and trade through linking Between the Mediterranean and the Gulf of Aqaba.
In addition, the President of the Republic also directed the government to prepare a comprehensive package of incentives, exemptions and facilities in a number of industrial and logistics areas in Egypt. he stressed that it is an important step to encourage transit trade, manufacturing, export and re-export operations, aiming to give a strong push to these sectors and increase their competitive advantage.
Such a step by the government will also maximize the benefit of what has been built from advanced infrastructure in this regard, which contributes to increasing Egypt’s share in the international trade market and opening new markets for Egyptian products and exports.
In his remarks, he also informed the executive position of the development and rehabilitation of subway lines regarding the first 44 km and the second 22 km, as well as the ongoing work to establish the fourth line of the 42 km metro.
In this regard, the importance of improving the level of service and maintenance of this important national facility, continuing to work on localization of the industry and deepening the local manufacturing of metro components within the framework of the State’s overall strategy to promote the national industry.
Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Transport Kamel El-Wazir. Moreover, the spokesperson of the President, Ahmed Fahmy, noted that the President, El Sisi, was briefed about the other essential projects during the meetings. He added that the President is working tirelessly to enhance the functionality of the steps taken by the government.
