Dean of Student Affairs of Hashemite University, Jordan, Dr Sadiq Shadifat, has sponsored a lecture titled: “Safe Use of Social Media Sites” presented by Lieutenant Nizar Al-Kharabsha and Advocate Mamoun Al-Nsour of the Community Peace Centre organized by the Cultural and Technical Activity Department in cooperation with the Community Peace Centre.

The lecture was held in the Directorate of Public Security and the National Centre for Culture and Arts, in the presence of a number of members Two faculty, administration and a crowd of students. On his part, Dr Shedifat said, “We heard at the Headquarters of Student Affairs and in cooperation with the Centre for Community Peace to hold these awareness seminars.

He added that the seminars were based on the visions and aspirations of King Abdullah II in promoting community peace and directions by the President of the University to educate students and prevent them from negative effects and misuse of social media sites and their role in dissemination.

“This lecture is aimed at directing the youth of the future towards positive and constructive change and the importance of monitoring the family their behaviour; the lieutenant explained that the purpose of the play is to illustrate the methods followed by extremist terrorist groups in exploiting and recruiting youth,” said reports.

He also emphasized the goal of the community ladder centre is to raise awareness of the prevention and treatment of the dangers of misuse of communication websites in order to build sound thinking at the national level and to show them how to deal with Those who try to touch the security of the homeland and the citizen and seek refuge in the specialized authorities in case they are exposed to any fraud.

For her part, the Director of the Cultural and Technical Activity Department, Dr Hanan Soadat, confirmed that cooperation would continue with the Centre for Community Peace, in faith in its leading role in guiding and protecting young people from intellectual and cultural fraud; in addition to their occupation in volunteering work that develop the values of love, belongingness and loyalty.

The leaders of the Community Peace Centre praised the efforts of the Directorate of Student Affairs at Hashemite University to hold awareness lectures for students in the field of community peace.
