Jordan: Prime Minister of Jordan Bisher Al Khasawneh has recently paid a visit to the rehabilitation centre and Naqab Area as part of his series of field tours and inspections.
He has inspected the progress of the ongoing project and improved the road facilities from the Naqab area to the Privacy area within the desert road project. He also toured and inspected the infrastructure works for the Quaira Industrial Zone in Aqaba.
During his inspection of the rehabilitation and improvement project of the road from the Naqab to the Intimacy area, the Prime Minister stressed the need to complete the remaining project (30%) within three months and underestimated any obstacles or impediments otherwise.
The owner also emphasized the importance of this vital international route project that contributes to the service of economic and development realities and important sectors, such as transportation and tourism, by linking the Kingdom’s governorates with the Port of Aqaba.
Prime Minister Bisher Al Khasawneh said, “We salute all the personnel working on the project and urge them to continue working and speedily complete this important and vital project, referring to the suffering caused by this section of the road where rehabilitation work is taking place”.

The rehabilitation and improvement project of the road from the Naqab area to the intimate area is located within the governorate of Maan and Aqaba, approximately (17) km long, and its total cost is about (24) million dinars.
The achievement rate in the project’s first section in Maan Governorate is 44%, while the second section of the reality of the Aqaba Governorate was almost completely completed.
During his inspection of the infrastructure works of the Quaira Industrial Zone in Aqaba, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of continuing work to achieve the desired objectives of the project in service to the national economy.
The importance of the Kuwaira Industrial Zone is emphasized in providing investment opportunities, improving economic and development realities, and providing employment opportunities and service to the local community.
The importance of the Quaira Industrial Zone is to contribute to the service of the local community by providing training and qualification opportunities to the residents of the area and enhancing their experience and potential to benefit from employment opportunities.
He pointed out the importance of taking advantage of the relative advantage of natural gas as part of the government’s strategy to link industrial towns in the Kingdom to natural gas networks, aimed at reducing production costs and contributing to attracting investment.
He also pointed out the necessity of taking advantage of the features provided by the Law of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone to bring in foreign and local investments, hinting at the importance of cooperation and partnership with the private sector as an enabler for the national economy.

During the tour, the Prime Minister was accompanied by the Minister of Public Works and Housing, the Minister of Transport, Engineer Maher Abu Al-Saman, the Chairman of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Nayef Al-Fayez, and the Governor of Aqaba Khaled Al-Hijaj.
