Egypt: The Minister of Youth and Sports and the Governor of the West, Ashraf Sobhy, has paid an inspection visit to the club of Mahalla Municipality and witnessed the ceremony honouring the club’s sports teams. The ceremony was held on July 29, 2023 (Today), in the presence of his accompanying delegation and members of sports teams.
In his remarks, Minister Ashraf Sobhy noted that “We are working to support and support popular clubs, and we are happy for the return of Mahalla Municipality Club to its normal position among the adults with the League of Lights.”
During his visit, he honoured Mahalla Municipality Football Club team for reaching the Premier League and the billiard team for being crowned the African Club Championship in Morocco.
In addition, he also recognized and honoured the judo team for being crowned the Republic Championship and the hero Iyad Al-Sahly from people with disabilities.
Meanwhile, it was noted that Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, accompanied by Tariq Rahmi, Governor of the West, Mahalla Municipality Club, in the presence of MP Mahmoud Al-Shami, Member of the House of Representatives, Mustafa Al-Shami Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mahalla Municipality Club and members of the Board.
This comes as part of the Minister of Youth and Sports program to visit the Western Governorate to inspect and inaugurate several youth and sports projects, which began with the governorate’s youth during an open dialogue meeting.
Ahmed Atta, Deputy Governor, attended the meeting, and several executive and popular leaders and members of the province’s parliamentary body said reports.
The Minister of Youth and Sports affirmed the support of Mahalla Municipality Club at all levels and sought investment opportunities for the club to increase the club’s resources. He confirmed that Mahalla Municipality Club is of great value as one of the most important popular clubs in the Western Governorate with its brother Club Ghazl Mahalla.
Moreover, he also expressed his happiness for the return of Mahalla Municipal Club to its normal position Among the adults with the League of Lights again after a long while.
Minister Sobhy congratulated the players, the technical equipment, the management, the members of the Board, and the fans of Mahalla Al-Araqa, who supported the team until its rise. The ministry certainly provided all aspects of support to the team so it could continue its football career successfully.
The Minister of Youth has directed a study on developing the club’s swimming pool to serve the club members and the club’s sports teams and sought financial support for the club’s blind judo team.
The Governor of the West congratulated the first team for making it to the Premier League, in a move not new to the old club, which all teams in the competition feared, hoping the club would return to normalcy on the league table with a star of young people on the Board alongside the club’s experiences.
Governor Ashraf Sobhy also praised the significant development in the club, whether in facilities or in developing player performance and skills, which appeared in the shows made by the club’s champions alongside the leading centres at the Republican or African level.
The ceremony included honouring player Iyad El-Sahly of Dua, the billiard team being crowned the African Club Championship held in Morocco, the judo team for the blind club was also honoured for being crowned the Republic Championship, and champion Iyad El Sahly of Dua was honoured as the running champion of the Republic.
The tour of the Minister of Youth and Field Sports to the Western Governorate is set to witness the opening of swimming pools in both “Samnoud Club, Samnoud Youth Centre”, the launching of the medical caravan at Samnoud Youth Centre, and the introduction of five playgrounds at “Met Badr Halawa, Azizia, Met Hashim” youth centres in Samnoud.
Immediately following that, the Minister of Youth and Sport of Dakhelia Governorate headed to inspect the youth and sports facilities in the governorate. The visit program included opening a swimming pool (covered) at the Met Khamis Youth Centre in Mansoura.
Along with opening an electronic gym and attending a dialogue meeting with members of the Youth and Elders of the governorate of the Ward Island Club in Mansoura. The tour ends with opening of a commercial mall and a garage in the club.
