Middle East, Egypt: The Ministry of Tourism and Archaeology has recently held an expanded workshop to follow up on digital transformation projects in hotel facilities in Hurghada. 

According to the reports, the meeting was attended by Dr Khaled Sharif, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Archaeology for Digital Transformation and Supervisor of Yacht Tourism, Dr Mohammed Shaban, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Archaeology of Digital Transformation, and representatives of 22 hotel facilities in Hurghada, to follow up on the digital transformation projects carried out at these facilities.

Furthermore, the workshop was also attended by a number of representatives of the central management of hotel facilities, venues and tourism activities of the Ministry of Tourism, Artefacts and the National Communications Organization, as well as representatives of their authorized internet service providers, said reports.

On his part, Dr Khaled Sharif, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Archaeology for Digital Transformation and Supervisor of Yacht Tourism, explained that the workshop was organized under the focus of the Ministry of Tourism and Archaeology to follow up on a number of digital transformation projects.

Moreover, the motive was to raise the efficiency of internet speed in hotel facilities after the difficulty staff of the Ministry, and the device was finished The National Organization of Communications from the field scanning works of a number of five-four-star hotel facilities in Hurghada during the second phase of works to increase the efficiency of internet services.

He further added that the workshop also discussed the facilitated services of the central management of hotels, shops and tourism, where more than 300 digital services for hotel licensing were made available.

Khalid further extended his remarks and pointed out that the services machine within the Central Administration for supervision of hotel facilities, shops and tourist activities aims to facilitate the receiving of tourist services of hotel and tourist facilities and opportunities through the usage of official website of the Ministry of Tourism and Archaeology.  

The official website is also introduced so that no service student should go to the management headquarters but apply through the Ministry’s website to get Licenses required or renew existing licenses and pay all due fees through this website, reports added.

It is noteworthy that the project to improve the efficiency of Internet services started about a year ago and is carried out in three phases. The first phase includes hotel facilities in Greater Cairo and Sharm El-Sheikh city. 

The second phase consists of the governorates of Luxor, Aswan, and the city of Hurghada in the Red Sea Governorate. In contrast, the third phase includes the rest of the hotel facilities in all governorates On the republic level.
