Egypt: Dr Yasmin Fouad attends a meeting with Al-Mulla, discusses ways to environmental duties

The Ministry of Environment of Egypt issued a statement in which they intend to implement the work and duties announced by the President of the Country.

As per the recent updates, the Minister of Environment and the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources associated with each other to seek environmental compatibility efforts from companies that deal with oil markets in Suez and the Red Sea Governorates.

The Minister of Environment, Dr Yasmin Fouad, accompanied by Eng. Tariq Al Mulla, the Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, expressed their opinions towards the plans and presidential duties, which read as follows,  

Dr Yasmin Fouad said, “It is necessary to include environmental correction plans and the use of the latest technologies in industrial waste processing processes.”

Eng. Tariq Al-Mulla added that “the acceleration of environmental correction plans agreed upon and benefits the oil industry”.

According to the reports, Dr Yasmin Fouad, along with Eng. Tariq Al-Mulla followed up on a periodic meeting to evaluate the environmental compatibility plans of the oil companies. 

The reports further said that the Hamai Law stipulated the environmental situations and stated that in Environment no 4 in 1994, the duties were implemented and instructed by President Abdul Fattah El-Sisi. The implementation was successful when the supreme committee for Environmental Reform solved the problem regarding the exchange of industrial oil companies in the waters of the Gulf of Seuz.

During the meeting, Dr Yasmin Fouad, the Environmental Minister, started the event by expressing immense gratitude towards the efforts of the Engineer, Al-Mulla and addressed his participation in the climate conference held in Sharm El-Sheikh.

Furthermore, Dr Fouad said that the meeting reviewed the oil companies’ efforts and environmental reforms. She added that the latest technologies and techniques are important in making these plans work.

Moreover, the Executive Chairman of the Egyptian General Authority for Oil and Chemical, Alaa Al-Batal, were also present at the event along with the Deputy Chairman of the Board for Reporting and Distribution, Muhammad Ali.

Several other top-level officials attended the event, such as Eng. Jamal Fathi, Assistant Chairman of the Board of Environment and Safety and Accountant Hisham Nour Al-Din, Head of the Central Administration of the Minister’s Office and Al-Mah. Nadas Mahmoud Naji, Assistant to the Minister for Transportation and Distribution; Engineer Salah Abdulkarim, Head of Gulf Oil Company Suez (Jabco); Dr Mustafa Murad, Head of the Environment Quality Sector, and Dr Eid Al-Rajhi, in charge of the Water Quality File in the Minister’s Office.
