Egypt: The Minister of Environment of Egypt, Yasmin Fouad, has recently shared an update regarding the implementation of the duties and instructions.

Egypt: The Minister of Environment of Egypt, Yasmin Fouad, has recently shared an update regarding the implementations of the duties and instructions under the directiveness of the President of the State of Egypt along with environmental investments. She stated that several environmental projects had been approved so far to initiate the process. 

As the per the shared updates, Environment Minister Yasmin Fouad further explained that “Modification of environmental classification lists for some projects are available to facilitate the inclusion of new projects.” In addition, she also added, “We issued a number of guidelines to facilitate investors during their projects.”

Furthermore, while implementing the duties of the President of the Republic to facilitate the procedures of environmental approvals, licensing and expediting the pace of their issuance, Yasmin Fouad, the Minister of the Environment, confirmed that the Ministry of Environment, through the Central Environmental Impact Assessment, issued a number of 300 environmental approvals for projects coming to the ministry. 

She further extended her remarks and also conveyed that the issued projects also varied from the number of project approvals. Moreover, the industrial number of licenses for tourism projects, 11 support for petroleum projects, as well as 15000 approvals for infrastructure projects.

On her part, the Minister of the Environment for Egypt, Yasmin Fouad, explained that a decision was made to form a committee to limit projects for which the completion of the data to end the position of these projects, where a representative from each concerned party was involved to expedite the completion of project procedures and issue their approvals.

While mentioning the details of the issued projects, Minister of Environment Fouad followed that the environmental classification lists for some projects had been modified to facilitate the inclusion of new projects. 

She also noted that some projects had been exempted from taking environmental impact assessment procedures to be licensed by administrative authorities under environmental conditions issued by the Environmental Affairs Agency. 

Notably, the reports also confirmed that Minister Yasmin Fouad also issued a number of guidelines have been issued, to facilitate investors in preparing EPA studies to encourage sustainable environmental investment.
