Iraq: Iraq-Egypt Joint Higher Committee inaugurates operations with signing of 11 Memorandums of Understanding (MoE).
The Iraq-Egypt Joint Higher Committee began its work in Cairo. Prime Minister Mohammed S Al-Sudani led the Iraqi delegation, while Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly headed the Egyptian side.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations, addressing shared issues and priorities, and reaffirming the commitment to enhancing cooperation between Iraq and Egypt across multiple domains.
According to the office of the Prime Minister of Iraq, during the meeting, the joint coordinating and executive committees‘ progress was reviewed, and discussions were held on the outcomes related to several memorandums of understanding ready for signing.
The Prime Minister and his Egyptian counterpart signed the meeting’s main minutes and jointly presided over the signing ceremony of 11 memorandums of understanding across various fields and sectors.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Central Bank of Iraq and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency in Egypt, aiming to enhance collaboration in enabling economic growth by supporting small and medium projects.
The Office of Iraq outlined that additionally, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Trade and the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry, focusing on cooperation in joining the World Trade Organization. Furthermore, the Institute of Foreign Service at the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Institute of Diplomatic Studies at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed a memorandum of understanding to facilitate collaboration in diplomatic training and the exchange of experiences. Lastly, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Iraqi Federal Service Council and the Egyptian Central Agency for Organization and Administration, aiming to strengthen cooperation in the fields of administration, public office, and civil service.
Furthermore, a memorandum of understanding was signed in the field of tourism, along with an agreement on exchanging experiences between the Ministry of Planning and the Egyptian Ministry of International Cooperation. Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was established for cooperation between the Ministry of Planning and the Institute of National Planning.
Moreover, a memorandum of understanding was signed in the field of labour between the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the Egyptian Ministry of Labour. Additionally, another memorandum focused on joint cooperation between the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity was signed.
Furthermore, two memorandums of understanding were established in the fields of youth and sports, signed between the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports.
