Egypt: The Minister of Culture of Egypt, Nevine Al-Kilani, witnesses the conclusion of Ismailia International for recorded and short films along with presenting prizes and awards to the winners of the competitions held at Islamia Culture Place.
According to the shared updates, during the award presentation ceremony, “Life Like No Other” and Gary Abdi took first place in “Films & Short Films”, and ” Industry Flame”””” wins ” Student Films”, along with which Lost Country wins ICC award for Fibresi.
As per the reports, Minister of Culture, Al-Kilani, accompanying Major General Fahmy Bashara, Ismailia Governor, witnessed the closing ceremony of the 24th session of the Ismailia International Recorded and Short Films Festival at Ismailia Culture Palace.
Furthermore, the event was held in the presence of Khaled Abdul Jalil, Advisor to the Minister of Culture for Cinema Affairs, Montera Manar Hosni, Head of the National Cinema Center, and film critic Essam Zakaria, the Festival President. And a selection of record and short filmmaking creators on both domestic and international levels.
During the award-giving ceremony, critic Essam Zakaria expressed his happiness with the success of the current session of the festival, noting that the session was characterized by the participation of promising young people who added a good spirit and an inspiring presence to the events of the festival.
He further affirmed that women’swomen’s participation in the festival had embodied a constructive value that is always fruitful in the Arab and international cinema field, as he thanked the Minister of Culture for her great support and care for all the matters of the festival.
On his part, Minister of Culture Al Kilani was also addressed to insist on its success in a way befitting Egypt’sEgypt’s cultural and civilizational leadership, and also to the festival staff who did not spare a lot of effort in making this course a special splendour on the organizational and creative levels.
Additionally, the head of the National Cinema Centre, Manar Hosni, also expressed her happiness with the local and international discussions that the festival embraced with its diverse events, certain that these events have created a constructive cultural boost among all participants.
She also took it to extend thankfulness to the Minister of Culture, Al Kilani, for the great interest and support in activating the festival’s message and coming out on the optimal face that expresses our ancient civilized identity.
The reports have confirmed that the Minister of Culture handed over the awards for the festival, where it won the first prize in the “Long Record Film Competition”, the movie “Life Like Others”, produced by “Bulgaria – France”, to the director “Farsteen Cross”, and the film “Lost Land” from “Iraq”, director Ishtar Yassin won the second prize, and the film “Notes on Exodus” by director Khaled Jarrar “Palestine – Germany” received its recognition. Special.
In the “short record film competition”, the film ” Gary Abdi”, from the Netherlands by director Dowi Dextra won the first prize and the second prize, and the movie “Tahatouh” from Algeria, directed by Mohamed Wali.
Meanwhile, the first prize in the “Short Novel” competition went to “Please Wait on the Line” from Malaysia, directed by Tan Si Ding. The second prize went to “Snow in September” by director Luca Givadolam Pureif, produced by “France-Mongolia”, as well as a special note for “Are You Looking At Me” from China by director Shuli Huang.
In the “Anime Films” competition, the first prize was for the movie “Beit Al Qalb” from France, by director Sarah Saeedan, and the second prize was for the film “Kenobchia”, from Egypt, by director Mohammed Omar, as well as a special mention for the movie “Think of Something Good”, from Sweden.
Within the competition “Student Films”, which was presented by Synergy Company, the film “Eeb Sana’a”Sana’a” won the first prize, the film “Alyoum El-Lyum El Shaftk Feh” won the second prize, director Muhammad Hani won the second prize and the film “Respond to the silence of the listener”, director Ali Nagati won the third prize, as well as a special mention for the movie “The Beginners’Beginners’ Apartment” by director Mohiye Aldin Yahya, and the film “Noon” by director Ranim Abu Yemen, and Nada Yasser.
A film called, My Lost Land from Iraq, directed by Ishtar Yassin, won the IRAJ Award for “Fibresi”. It is noteworthy that the current session of the Ismailia Festival was held from March 14 to 20 this year, and about 123 films participated, representing 50 countries, 16 long record films, 14 short record films, 18 short story films, 18 animation films, 17 student films, and four films were screened for the Macramans.
Along with five films in the TransGenre Films program, 17 films in the Very Short Films program, four films in the Portrait Films program, and two off-competition films. The festival also celebrated German Film Festival as the guest of honour of the season by showing six films.
