Jordan: The Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Jordan, Engineer Amani Al-Azam, participated in the opening public session of the first regional conference of the Regional Energy Network for Women in the Middle East and North Africa RENEW-MENA on Thursday, yesterday June 22, 2023. 

The session was conducted under the theme “Middle East and North Africa at a critical turn: Government’s Commitments to better policies that support women’s Role in the green economy.”

According to the recent updates, the Participation of the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Amani Al-Azam, in the opening public session held in Tunisia from 22 to June 23 2023, comes after the formal inauguration of the Regional Energy Network for Women in the Middle East and North Africa. 

It was stated that the resolution is a member of the steering committee of the network, which is a regional platform aimed at increasing participation.

Furthermore, it has been noted that the economy of women in the energy sector, especially in the jobs related to the transition to clean energies, encourages improving the working environment for women in both the public and private sectors

In this context, during the meeting, Secretary General took it to confront the widespread social status patterns around the role of women in science, technology, engineering and math, alongside increasing the presence of women in Power outages to this day.

In the end, the conference was seen as an opportunity to showcase the commitments of the Middle East and North African countries and enhance knowledge exchange at the regional and global levels. 

Moreover, to increase economic enterprises for women and their leadership in the energy sector, the meeting emphasized a number of aspects.
