Egypt: Housing Minister Asim Al Jazar hosts head of Chinese CSCEC Ha Xiao Ping to follow up on CBZP

The Minister of Housing, Facilities and Civil Societies, Asim Al Jazar, hosted a meeting with the head of the Chinese CSCEC (China State Construction Engineering Corporation), Ha Xiao Ping at the Ministry’s headquarters.

Egypt: The Minister of Housing, Facilities and Civil Societies, Asim Al Jazar, hosted a meeting with the head of the Chinese CSCEC (China State Construction Engineering Corporation), Ha Xiao Ping at the Ministry’s headquarters. The meeting was organised to follow up on the executive position of the Central Business Zone Project.

As per the sources, the meeting was organized in the presence of officials from the Housing and Income Ministry. In about one week, this was the second meeting between the representatives of both countries.

Minister Asim Al Jazar also welcomed the accompanying delegation of the Chinese head of the CSCEC and discussed the potential trends in the project’s success. It was reported that the meeting aimed to progress the outlet for the central business zone in the new administrative capital, speed up the project, and remove any obstacles if found.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the project implementation rates and ongoing works, technical specifications of works being carried out, and the scheduled schedule for implementation, etc.  

Moving forward, Minister Al Jazar was briefed and followed up regarding the project with Chinese CSCEC and the Project Consultative Bureau officials. This is in conjunction with the permanent presence of the new Ministry of Housing in the new administrative capital, said reports.

On his part, the Minister of Housing, Al Jazar, further expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the visit of Mr Ha Xiao Ping, his escort delegation, keen to provide support in the project of the central business zone in the new administrative capital and striving to overcome challenges.

Furthermore, Al-Jazar also renewed the emphasis on Chinese CSCEC officials to accelerate implementation rates, and increase the numbers of Chinese and Egyptian trained labour, to complete the implementation of various components of the Central Business Zone project on time and of the highest quality.

Moreover, he added that implementing the components should also meet global standards, confirming that the Ministry of Housing is keen to provide various forms of support to the Chinese CSCEC. As per the reports, it is essential to finish implementing this vital project, which is being implemented for the first time in Egypt.

As the Minister of Housing confirmed, there is great interest in the central business zone project, the new administrative capital, which includes 20 towers of various uses, including the iconic tower, the tallest in Africa, with a height of about 400 meters.

It was further claimed that the estimated investments of the project are around $ 3 billion, implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Housing, represented in a body New Urban Societies, China (CSC), which is one of the world’s leading contracting companies.

In the same context, Ha Xiao Ping praised the meeting of Asim Al-Jazar, and Jao Boa, the general manager of the Chinese CSCEC, in the forum that brought the two sides together via video conference about five days ago.

Notably, he came from China to support and push the work on the Central Business Zone project, removing any obstacles if found. The company’s chairman greeted Asim Al-Jazar and the Ministry of Housing officials.

Head of the Chinese CSCEC, Ping, further cited that “The company’s keenness on the speedy completion of the project of the central business zone in the new administrative capital, and the company’s interest in the project, reflecting its rapid presence in Egypt.”
