Bahrain: HM Jaleela Hassan attends World Health Day celebrations

Bahrain: The Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Jaleela Jawad Hassan, recently attended the celebrations of World Health Day on April 7, 2023. During the opening ceremony, the minister addressed the audience and expressed her pleasure to be a participant in the event.

Minister of Health outlined, “We cherish the national forces that contributed to the development of the health system,” to this WHO Office Representative stated, “With everyone’s cooperation, we will achieve high levels of ambition in public health insurance.”

During the event for World Health Day, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, Dr Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, confirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain had registered a prominent location on the health map by providing the best preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic and qualitative health services, which embodies the Kingdom’s deep interest in the health and medical sector and placing it at the top of priorities.

As per the reports, this came during the opening ceremony of World Health Day, which comes this year in conjunction with the seventy-fifth (75th) yearly anniversary of the establishment of the World Health Organization under the slogan “Health for All: 75 years of improving public health.”

Furthermore, the event was organized under the patronage of Jaleela Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, and Dr Tasnim Ghalib Atatra, Representative of the WHO office in Bahrain, and a number of senior officials and staff. The Ministry of Health also shared several photographs from the celebration event in which many government officials were seen taking part.

On his part, the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health pointed out that the health sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain is keen to achieve sustainable development goals by committing to take practical steps to improve health. 

He further stated that the ultimate goal of health and well-being could be achieved under the comprehensive development march led by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the continuous follow-up from Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince of the Council of Ministers.
