Egypt: The President of the Republic Abdel Fattah El-Sisi today received a delegation including the heads of the Chinese Wuhuan Engineering companies and the Italian Balestra, the two fertilizer companies, and the senior officials. The meeting was held yesterday, July 19th, 2023, at the President’s Office in the new administrative capital.

On his part, the official spokesman of the Presidency of the Republic, adviser Ahmed Fahmy stated that the meeting discussed the ongoing cooperation with the foreign partnership of the two Chinese and Italian companies. 

The discussions aimed to start the immediate establishment of the third fertilizer production complex in Ain Al Sokhna, which comes in addition to the success of the establishment and operation of Phosphate and Composite Fertilizer Industrial Complexes in Ain the Fever.

During the meeting with the two companies, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi praised the ongoing cooperation with the two companies in light of Egypt’s outstanding friendship with China and Italy. 

It was highlighted that the mutual ties aimed at continuing work to develop the fertilizer production system at the local level, being one of the most important inputs and commodities influencing agricultural production and food security.

The President Abdel Fattah El Sisi clarified that the state is working diligently to build a genuine and advanced industrial base in various industrial sectors, particularly food security and vital sectors, in light of growing international challenges. 

Furthermore, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi also emphasized the continuation of efforts to localize industry and deepen local manufacturing in Egypt.

Moreover, he suggested ways to accomplish the goals, especially through transferring knowledge, technology and experience, leveraging the advanced productivity and operational capabilities of the largest foreign companies worldwide.

The reports have informed that the meeting was held in the presence of the team Ahmed Al-Shazli, the head of the Financial Affairs Authority of the Armed Forces, and Major General of the War Staff Walid Abu Al-Majd, the General Manager of the National Service Projects Unit, and Major General Ihab Abdul Al-Sami, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Nasr Chemicals Company, and Engineer Walid Lotfi, Chairman of the board of Petro jet Company.
