The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia - Ernest Hilaire, has recently shared a piece of great news regarding the commencement of the first-ever flight from London to Guyana with connectivity through Saint Lucia.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia – Ernest Hilaire, has recently shared a piece of great news regarding the commencement of the first-ever flight from London to Guyana with connectivity through Saint Lucia. He called the inaugural event the essential day in the history of the nation in terms of enhancing and taking regional connectivity to another level.

According to the recent updates, while announcing the event that took place in Saint Lucian history, DPM Hilaire expressed his immense pride and honour for being a part of the revolutionary step taken to improve the regional connectivity of the Caribbean region.

In addition, Ernest Hilaire took to his official social media account to share the update with his fellow Saint Lucians and address the special occasion to them, and he noted in his Facebook caption, “Yesterday was a historic day for our country – Saint Lucia and regional connectivity!”

In addition to this, he added, “The SLTA – Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, along with the Tourism Ministry and other stakeholders, including the SLHTA – Saint Lucia Hospitality and Tourism Association, were part of a delegation on the inaugural flight of British Airways from London to Guyana with connectivity through Saint Lucia.”

Furthermore, the details and information were also shared by the Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information, who also serves as the Deputy Prime Minister of the Caribbean country, Hilaire, as the flights will be commencing twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays.

The reports have also confirmed that it was further stressed by DPM Hilaire that the newly made decision and inauguration of the London to Guyana flights is specifically special because of the connectivity stop in Saint Lucia, which would add benefits to the region in different manners.

Meanwhile, it was also pointed out that “the flights present new opportunities for our tourism market and investment opportunities for both the major economies. As the economy of Guyana continues on its upward growth trajectory, it is critical that our nation has partnered with them to explore export opportunities for our locals to Guyana.”

Moreover, through the inaugural of the London to Guyana flights, both countries will benefit in different aspects, such as increased tourism worldwide, boosting national economies, along with building more investment industries, said the reports.

During the opening event, DPM Hilaire concluded that the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of Guyana joined on the inaugural return leg of the flight with service from Guyana to Saint Lucia onto London. In discussions with her, she is eager to explore all opportunities that will be mutually beneficial to Saint Lucians and Guyanese alike.
